Silica

Silicon dioxide is an important material for scientific research in the manufacture of glass, quartz glass, water glass, optical fiber, important parts of the electronics industry, optical instruments, handicrafts, and refractory materials.
Silica Uses: Flat glass, glass products, foundry sand, glass fiber, ceramic glazes, rust-proof blasting, filter sands, fluxes, refractories, and manufacture of Autoclaved Lightweight Concrete. Silicon dioxide has a wide range of uses. Crystals, which are scarce in nature, can be used to make important parts, optical instruments and crafts in the electronics industry. Silica is an important raw material for the manufacture of optical fibers. Generally pure quartz can be used to make quartz glass. Quartz glass expansion coefficient is very small, equivalent to 1/18 of ordinary glass, can withstand the drastic changes in temperature, acid resistance (except HF), therefore, quartz glass is often used to manufacture high temperature resistant chemical instruments. Quartz sand is commonly used as a glass raw material and building material.
